Jamba Juice now in Manila

MANILA, Philippines — Now you can have your daily requirement of fruits and vegetables in one glass, thanks to Jamba Juice, America’s leading juice brand, which opens its first store in Southeast Asia Friday at the Bonifacio High Street Central, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City.

Brought in by the Max’s Group of Companies, Jamba Juice is expected to become the new meal alternative for those who lead active lifestyles and those interested in healthy options as it offers smoothies made from fruits flash frozen right at the peak of ripeness from all over the world.

Sharon Fuentebella, managing director of Jamba Juice Philippines, said the firm is set to grow Jamba Juice in the country and establish 40 company-owned locations in the next 10 years.

“Filipinos are now more inclined towards dynamic and active endeavors. This shift has prompted us to seek products that will complement this new lifestyle.

To date, we have the home-grown Max’s Restaurant, Max’s Corner Bakery, and franchised the worldwide sensation Krispy Kreme. And this growing portfolio inspired us to woo Jamba Juice,” Fuentebella added.

“We are in the Philippines because Sharon knocked on our door, and we are excited to be here. Sharon and the Max’s Group of Companies are the best partners we have ever worked with,” said James D. White, Jamba Juice chairman, president and chiref executive officer (CEO).

White also proudly claims that Jamba Juice uses Philippine bananas in all its stores worldwide. Fuentebella, on the other hand, said: “Our dream is to bring Philippine mangoes not only to Jamba Juice-Philippines but to the rest of Jamba Juice in the world.”

Why Jamba? “Jamba in Swahili means a celebration,” explains White. And as a healthy lifestyle brand, Jamba Juice adopted a stealth vegetable approach for children and adults who don’t like to eat their greens.

“Every (Jamba Juice) product is jam-packed full of Wow, and we believe that the more Wow you put into your body, the more Wow it will give out,” he added.

In town for the Manila opening of Jamba Juice are Thibault de Chatellus, senior vice president-International, and Dar Vasseghi, director for international operations.

Jamba Juice was founded in 1990 in San Luis Obispo, California, out of a vision to inspire and simplify healthy living. Last year, it posted a US$262.7-million revenue. As of July 12, 2011, Jamba Juice had 746 restaurant locations in the United States, consisting of 436 franchise-operated stores, 310 company-owned stores, and six international stores. Last October 28, it opened its first store in Canada, followed two weeks later by its Philippine store, Jamba Juice’s first in Southeast Asia.
